How far in advance can I reserve a storage unit?
This really depends on you as we give you the flexibility to reserve a unit for any date in the future.

Do I have to pay a deposit?
A deposit is payable when you reserve your storage space. This deposit is fully refundable if your plans change or when you finalise your storage agreement.

Can I come and view the facility and various storage spaces?
We welcome all visitors to our facility and will gladly show you around.

Do I need to make an appointment?
You do not have to make an appointment but we encourage you to do so should you wish to see a particular staff member.

How do I rent a unit?
There are a few ways you can organise the rental of a storage unit with us. You can call us directly to discuss your requirements, you can visit the store during our trading hours or you can submit an email request for a specific size. Our storage consultants will always check with you that the size you have selected is suitable for you.

What must I bring with me when I rent a storage unit?
You will need photographic identification with a signature on it, such as your driver’s licence or passport, and a contact address and phone number where we can reach you if needed. You will also need to either bring a padlock for your unit or you can purchase a padlock from our store. You will be required to sign a Storage Agreement which details many of the items discussed here. Our staff will take all the time necessary to review and explain the Storage Agreement with you.

Can I buy boxes to pack my belongings into?
Yes! You can purchase a wide range of packaging materials from boxes to plastic covers and tape at our facility. Alternatively you can shop online by going to the home page and clicking the BOX SHOP link.

Is there anything I need to do to prepare my unit before I move my belongings into it?
No, your unit will be clean and ready for you on the day you move in.

What if I need more space after I move in?
At Storage King Murarrie all our staff are experienced storage consultants and will be happy to help you select the appropriate space for your needs. If possible we will look over your items prior to being packed into your allocated space to ensure that you have the best size for your needs.

Can I change to a larger or smaller size after I have moved in?
Yes, we understand that circumstances change over time.

Are there any items that I am not allowed to store?
Common sense and Government laws determine what can and cannot be stored. Under the Storage Agreement (which you sign upon rental of a storage unit), you cannot store hazardous, dangerous, illegal, stolen, perishable, environmentally harmful goods or explosive goods.

Can I access my storage unit at any time?
Yes! Access to your storage space is available every day of the year between the hours of 5:00am – 9.00pm.

Can anybody enter the facilities at any time or do you need a PIN number?
Yes, you must have your unique PIN number to access to your storage space as this activates or deactivates your alarm. Your unique PIN number also advises us is on site at any given time.

What kind of security does Storage King Murarrie have?
At Storage King Murarrie we provide a clean, safe and secure environment for your personal items. Our site has C.C.T.V. and 24 hour monitoring. You place your own padlock on your storage unit and you keep the key so only you (or who you authorize) can gain access.

Can you recommend a removalist for me to use?
Yes! Although Storage King Murarrie is not affiliated with any removalist companies, we have built up strong relationships over many years with a number of companies. As a result, we are happy to pass on their details for you to make contact with.

Do you have a trailer or truck to assist us in moving our belongings?
Yes we have a 3 ton van that we allow our customers to use. Further details can be found on the home page under OTHER SERVICES – Moving Truck.

How should I pack my storage unit to make it easy to get to my items?
There are some simple practices that can help – put the things you will want to get too easily and regularly in the front of the unit. It also helps to label boxes clearly and place them so the label shows. Also try to leave a clear walkway in the centre of the unit so you can get to all areas of your unit. Additionally you can go to the home page OUR FACILITY – Hints & Tips for further packing information.

Can I insure my goods?
Yes! Storage King Murarrie can provide Insurance cover for your goods whilst they are in storage. Our staff will be able to assist you or you may go to the home page OTHER SERVICES – Insurance for further information.

Is there a minimum or maximum length of time I can store my goods?
Our minimum contract is for one month. Your contract then runs on a month by month basis until you advise your intention to vacate – we ask for 30 days notice when you do plan on vacating. There is no limit on the time you can rent your unit.

How much do I have to pay initially to move in?
We ask that you pay a minimum of one month’s storage rent plus a onetime clean up and fumigation fee ($16.50) when you first rent your storage unit. If you choose to take insurance with us, the first month’s premium will also need to be paid.

Will I receive a monthly reminder?
Yes, we will send you a Rental Statement or Tax Invoice at least 10 days before your storage fees are due for payment. We can either post or email your invoices to you.

When is my rent due?
Your storage fees are due monthly on the anniversary date of your first move-in.

What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, cheque (except upon vacate), EFTPOS, direct debit into our bank account as well as all major credit cards – Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Diners Club.

Can I pay my rent via the web?
Yes, simply go to www.storagemurarrie.com.au home page and ONLINE OPTIONS – Pay Rent. You will then be directed to our secure payment page where you must enter your space number and unique PIN number to access your account details. (COMING SOON)

If my payment is late what happens?
A late fee is applied if payment is not made when due. This will be detailed to you when you sign up for your storage unit. To avoid the possibility of any late fees being charged to your account, you can arrange to set-up automatic payment with your credit card where your storage fees will be charged on your anniversary date each month.

What will happen to my stuff if you lose contact with me?
If rent is still outstanding at the close of business on the 6th week (42 days) your storage space will be opened and the contents recorded. Arrangements will then be made to remove all items from our facility.
